I've apparently been a bit secrety about where I am, I think the last time I wrote I was in Munich, in a bit of a state, wondering how to get to Chamonix in France, I was a bit stressed about the job, long story involving UK National Insurance number I thought I had but didn't. I was on the VERY verge of booking a ticket to Bangkok and in a bizarre moment of absolute INSANITY and complete and utter retardedness I might have asked my ex boyfriend to come with me (????!!true story, I was VERY upset, give me a break). But, that's all behind me and I am currently writing from our cosy little flat in beautiful Chamonix, there's massive amounts of snow falling outside, a beer on the table, pizza in the oven and really cool flatmates all over the place. We've been doing staff training for the last few days, it's been pretty full on but it's been great. By the way, Amazon Creek is the company I'm working for, click HERE to go look at the chalets, they're the company I did the 2 week sailing charter with, they're incredible; extremely high end, ultimate luxury, just amazing.
We arrived on Sunday and went straight to the chalets to meet the owners, an amazing dinner was prepared for us in the most beautiful chalet and we got to know everyone. We're a pretty small team but a pretty AWESOME team. Flat mates are all very cool. One girl I met at the beginning of the yacht season, we're roomies, a young Hugh Grant look-alike and two lads from the UK. We have a REALLY cosy little flat with the most beautiful views.
We did loads of cool stuff; a wine tasting in the chalet, dinners every night to practice service, new UNIFORMS (including cool RED jackets!), driving the Land Rovers in snow, making fires, we had meetings with beauty thereapist, massage people, we learnt how to use the spas and jaccuzzis and the cinema room, we learnt how to use the snow blowers and the salting machine for the driveway, we were driven around Chamonix to get to know all the ski areas and had meetings with the instructions.
This is all VERY exciting, I was completely blown away by the chalets and the whole company.
LOOK
We're getting free ski passes for the winter and some lessons which I CANNOT wait for. Most of the team are snowboarders so I guess I'll give that a go first. We work from about 7.30am till 12, have the whole afternoon off to ski, on a rota for high tea and then back to work at 7 for the evening service. We all live together in a cute little cosy flat, close to the chalet. There's 60cm of snow predicted JUST for Friday.
Muchos excitement.
