In Manila

after 3 trains, 2 flights, 17 hours at Singapore Airport (ENTIRE post coming on that one at some stage, I didn't even know airports like that existed) aaand a taxi, I'm finally here. 29 hours later. I found a place to stay and was greeted by a local man with an enormous gun (ENORMOUS) that helped me with my bag and escourted me up the stairs to the fifth floor (??!!). Dodgey as all hell area. Ghetto music blasting, locals bench pressing and drinking just at the entrance of the building. Errr, I panicked a bit, why does he need a gun THAT big, the thing hit me on the side as he grabbed my bag from me, gaaaah NO, that's not okay. I was ready to just bolt, I had the taxi driver wait for me while I checked it out. I got upstairs, and it seemed alright, Bob Marley was playing, people were chilling on lilos in the pool, a gorgeous hippy boy was playing the guitar, the girl that's just opened the hostel used to live in Obz, she poured me some orange juice and all was good with the world again. False alarm, sheesh dude with the gun scared the crap out of me, he needs to watch that.

I'm here for 2 days before Palawan, wasn't sure how long it would take to get a visa as I'm here for longer than the 21 days they allow. I'd been hearing horror stories of long lines and majour missions at the visa place in town. Errr, I just walked straight off the plane, into the little immigration office, spoke nicely to the ossifer and bought a 38 day extension,so I can stay for 59 days in total... paid $60, waited about 5 minutes, got my passport stamped, picked up my bag and that was that. Sweet.

Ok tired now
