Okay, so, everyone's all like yeah go to Phi Phi, the beaches are beautiful, the snorkeling and diving is incredible, the walks are great and I'm all, like, yeahyeah true, but I think that THE best thing to do is to check into One Phi Phi Hostel, sit at the end of the bed, and watch people's faces as they come through the door, WORLD class entertainment, it's the best. They come in all smiley, look around at the 18 prison-style beds crammed into a tiny room, smell the stench of the toilet, slip on the water from the leaking shower and their faces just drop. They sit down on the bed to rest their tired feet and SNAP, their bones break, because, well, it's not really a matress, it's a slab of concrete discuised as a matress. But really, Lonely Planet should really consider including this in their "Top 10 things to do in Phi Phi"

The inmates...

Having said all that, I've actually slept surprisingly well, and we've met some cool people, and we saved heaps on accommodation, AND it was in the centre of the island, and it even had wifi, so really, it wasn't aaall that bad, a little basic, but not completely abhorrent.

We're leaving Phi Phi tomorrow for the long trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia. 29 hours of public transport ... I'm keen, keeeen. Kind of, not really... do you think they sell valium here?
