I had the best day in Naples. Despite everyone's tales of it being smelly and rundown and dangerous... it was incredible, I absolutely loved it, it was one of my best days in Italy so far. I loved that it was so old and crumbly, that paint was peeling off everywhere and it was pretty grungy, that's part of its charm. I walked around all day snapping away, there were unexpected bursts of colour all over the place; a flower market, a lemon cart, a fruit stall, brightly coloured window boxes, a fish market. There was beautiful architecture and old cobbled streets leading to little piazzas and markets. It was so multicultural and vibrant, people were shouting and hooting and fighting and laughing, they were buying incredible, fresh produce from the markets splayed all over the streets. There was amazing (bargain) shopping (I went a little crazy, and when I say "a little", I mean "off the hook completely bananas", I literally couldn't stop myself, more on that later). There was pizza, my GOD... was there pizza (only THE most delicious pizza in the world, I do NOT say that lightly). I'm getting a bit sleepy, keep nodding off and dropping my iphone onto my nose (hate it when that happens), definitely bed time. I've put a few pictures up, on the right. More on Naples, my manic shopping spree and a in-depth account of the best pizza-eating experience of my life (OF... mah laaaaaaf)
