On Sunday I took myself off to a medi-evil village in the Nervia Valley, called Dolceacqua, and admittedly, I initially chose to go there because it had such a pretty name, and then because of Monet's painting of the bridge. Whilst I ran into a few difficulties getting there (no busses, having to walk 7km, hitch-hiking back) it was well worth it. This time it was just my camera and I so I had all the time in the world to stroll around and take pictures and eat tirumisu and drink red wine and eat wild boar and truffle pasta, what, it was my last Sunday in Italy, would have been a crime NOT to. It was the last Sunday of the month so there was an open-air market sprawled around the tiny little village below the church and everyone was out in the sunshine, buying and selling fresh produce and antiques and home-made things, it was lovely and a great place for creeping on people with my camera.
I've decided I might make a "photography" page and document my journey to photographic GURUdom and share some of the things I'm learning along the way, sooooo stay tuned for that and OH my gosh it's so nearly Saturday and I cannot WAIT to set foot in Kenya. I'm gonna take a picture of a giraffe, a girraaaaaaaffe. And other things, no doubt.
