So, last night I cooked my last dinner for the guests... ever. They're leaving today and so are we, we're heading back to France, crossing the Gulf of Leon (52 hours, eek) from Spain, there for a few days and then back to Italy until the end of the season. Officially just under three weeks until I fly to Kenya (ohmahwurrd). Time to completely uproot myself all over again, yesss let's do it. I'm far more excited for the whole airport/aeroplane experience than what would be considered normal, but seriously, why wouldn't I be? Reading the new books I've just downloaded on my kindle, duty-free shopping, the big lit up boards with all the PLACES, the sound of planes landing and final boarding calls, duty-free shops, reeking of perfume, wifi, playing on my laptop, aeroplane meals that I pretend to hate but secretly love, tiny tubes of toothpaste and superfluous socks, opening the shutter and sneaking a peak at the sunrise while everyone sleeps and the air hostess gives you the hairy eyeball, stepping out into a new country and finding your feet, finding a bus, drawing new currency; ooooh the excitement. Other than hitting the Gikomba market with a vengeance like no other, feeding stuff to bushbabies, sitting on the beach, swimming, seeing fish and animals and STUFF and generally just mooching about the place without a care in the world, I don't have any massive plans for my time in Kenya, but I'm excited. Way WAY excited.
