Okay so we spent last night in Phuket, on Bangla Road and OH boy, every single one of my senses are still recovering from the things they endured on that road. I was casually walking down the road, looked up and BAM there was a massive green iguana shoved in front of my face, I screamed SO loud, sheeeesh I got a fright. We were harassed every five metres to go watch a ping pong show (more on THAT later), we got conned into getting our pictures taken with the most extravagant of lady boys, for 100 baht, I got guilted into buying one of those ridiculous bracelets that had the most obscenely offensive thing written on it (I'm still wearing it though, it's QUITE funny), I had a slow loris THROWN into my arms, poor thing, and then, well, THEN... I saw an old lady pull an entire farm yard out of her poon-tang. I won't go into too much detail, but it was horrifying. I bought a drink and literally couldn't even have one sip, that's how unsettling it was. I was joking about the farmyard, but there was a bird, an eel, some fish, a massive frog aaand a turtle. This strangely talented woman could shoot darts out and pop baloons, she could blow a whistle, smoke a cigarre, write a letter and even KNIT, sweet Jesus, mad skills.
Yeah so that was Patong, quite glad we were only there for one night, it was really touristy and way too much animal cruelty going on for my liking. We got the ferry this morning and are now on Koh Phi Phi, which is absolutely beautiful, we have a hike, a snorkelling trip and maybe some scuba diving on the cards for the next day. We had dinner in a tree housey type place overlooking the sea, we walked along the beach and then casually strolled back to our, ahem, delightful accommodation. The island is pretty small, it's peak season and we didn't book anything, so, needless to say, we're staying in an 18 bed dorm called one phi phi, probably because there's only one toilet, I don't know, but I kiiiind of feel like I'm in a prison, but a prison on a BEAUTIFUL island, so I guess that makes it better.
