It would seem, that, well... Europe is a health hazard and I'm just NOT meant to be here, so I'm leaving at once. No, not really, but I wish I was. In the last couple of months travelling around South East Asia... I wasn't sick once, not so much as a headache. I've been in Europe just a few days and I'm lying in bed feeling like absolute death. Fever, sore throat, headache, cough... it's HORRIBLE. I suppose walking around in the snow late at night, sitting at bus terminals for hours in minus temparatures and not having any winter clothes, well, it's not a great idea, bit of a recipe for, well, DEATH.
I'm feeling VERY sorry for myself, I need some serious looking after, I need someone to to bring me treats so I feel better, or just some cough medicine, that would be okay too, although the recovery time would be a LOT longer without the treats, I'd be willing to settle for a dash of cough medicine. Sigh. I'm back in Chamonix, by the way. Came to visit some friends before I commit myself to another 6 months of slavery on the yacht. There's still so much snow here it's crazy. I was all amped for one last hoo-rah, one boozy shin-dig, but now, well, now, I can't get out of bed, but I'm working on it.
You know what's funny, there was a time when I thought snow was really pretty and completely awesome, now, I'm just like... urrrgh, it's horrible, what was I THINKING? Okay maybe horrible is too strong a word, but, it's SO boring. White is such a boring colour, it almost isn't a colour, and I LOVE colours. I don't like being cold and I don't like slipping around all over the place. And you know what's also funny... I remember thinking that Europe was just the shiz, I wasn't that interested in going anywhere else. When my ex boyfriend said he wanted to go to Shanghai, I was all (secretly) like ummm, errr WHY, I didn't get it. Why WOULDN'T he want to come to Europe? My poor little mind was so closed, I actually didn't have any interest in Asia at ALL. WHAT a mistake. He was ONTO something that boy was, cos Asia is incredible and it kicks Europe's BUTT. Had I known how cool Asia was, I wouldn't have spent ALL my money here, I would have had enough money to keep going, to do the return trip with the guys back to El Nido, to spend another week or so at palawan camping, to go hiking up in Sagada, to go to Tubbataha Reef, to go to Indonesia, to Raja Ampat... sigh. BUT, I'm here now. Oleh. I need to stop feeling sorry for myself and go and get some medidcine or I will lie here for all eternity being sick and that would be horrible.
