So, my day didn't QUITE go according to plan. It started off well, with a bowl of rolled oats and blueberries, some carrot, apple and ginger juice and a stroll into town, it was lovely and sunny and all the little boats were out for the regatta. Look how lovely...

Lunch time approached and it took everything in me not to pick up some fresh pasta, or buy some foccacia, or have an ice cream, like the rest of Italy seem to do on a Saturday. I've made quite a serious commitment to health and vitality. I blame it on our health guru guests. Week four, still going strong, no sugar, very little carbs, mostly organic, mountains of fresh fruit and vegetables, I'm proud of me, living in the land of everything delicious and tempting is no easy feat. But anywhooodle (I just said that), the rain clouds came in and completely shattered my hopes of cycling to the next village. I walked back to the boat in the rain, then dragged a rather disgruntled deckhand back with me to the hairdresser to book an appointment, ask the price of blonde highlights and explain to him exactly what I wanted, these things are a bit tricky when you don't speak Italian, and they're the kind of thing you want to get right. As well as my commitment to health, I've made a commitment to SAVING, I absolutely refuse to spend my money (other than on my hair, come now) in Europe, it's ridiculously expensive and I would far rather spend it in a country that needs it, which is why I'm going to Indonesia, aaaaall for a good cause, purely selfless endeavour. Oh, flip, I bought an iPhone in Europe, that was bad, umm, that was before my lifestyle change, that was the old Cary, the wasteful creature, shame on HER
