The thing about this job, is that I can't just poodle along and fly under the radar and get by. Oh no. I am RIGHT under that radar, ain't no flying under it, or over it, smack in the middle of it. We're heading off to Capri and Ponza in a few days and I've had the living daylights frightened out of me about there being no shops on the way, and how I need to stock up and plan ahead and be extremely organised. Ummm, you don't just want some toasted sandwiches then? Maybe mix it up with a salad? That'll be nice and easy. Oh, what was that? You want a Gorgonzola and red onion quiche, oh and an Aubergine stew and seared swordfish with salsa verde and creme brûlée? Oh, I see, okay, um, I'll just pull that out of my hat when we're in the middle of the ocean and I can't get to a grocery shop in days. I'm scared. But excited to see Naples and the Amalfi coast and Capri and Ponza. I'm trying to see this as an awesome opportunity to cook new things, get a few more feathers in my hat, recipes up my sleeve yeh know. As the captain says "Cary, I know this is hard work, but really love, you're going to be the best wife a man could ask for one day, this all good training" (ummmm, I like to pretend he never said that). In other news, it's so nearly October, right? Almost time to book flights, plan adventures, spend money, make decisions. Okay so I know this is lame, but are you ever excited at all the possibilities there are in life, if you really want to badly enough, you can totally do anything you want, so many choices, I LIKE it.
