Today has been a classic example of what it's like working in the yachting world. An absolute roller coaster.
I went from looking out my porthole at 7am as we sailed from Capri to Positano thinking how awesome my job was, to being rushed off my feet as the guests all woke up hours earlier than normal, then I was dancing around the aft deck celebrating the fact that they decided to eat ashore and I no longer had to cook lunch, to having to rush out to the shop to buy stuff for the cake I forgot they asked me to make for tea, then I was jumping off the side of the boat into the sparkling turquoise water as I looked up at the beautiful, dramatic cliffs of the Amalfi Coastline, blue sky, warm sun... incredible, and thennnn I was in the galley, running 15 minutes late for dinner, boiling hot, tray full of burnt vegetables, swordfish starting to overcook, absolute war zone in there after being asked to make three different kinds if cocktails while I was trying to cook, 11pm and I'm finally done with the dinner service, sit around waiting to leave for Ponza, as was the plan, only to be told "oh we were thinking we'd leave around 4am tomorrow so we get there before lunch". Oh, right, the crew will just wake up at 3.30 am, cook, that's awesome. Anyways, in between all that I got to walk around Positano for a bit and it was real purrrdy, pics to follow. Mmmmkay night
