I went back to Porto Rotondo and bought myself a few birthday treats that I FORGOT to get when I was there yesterday, because it's my birthday... TOMORROW! Anyways, I bought some things from the supermarket to bake something tricky tomorrow (this is how I have fun), got back in the tender and drove back to the boat (the big one, that I live on). I was feeling all KINDS of impressed with myself; boat licence in pocket, tying all sorts of knots, doing the anchor by myself, knowing the rules of the road, doing all the right manoeuvres in the port... I. Am. AWESOME. I'm incredible oh I'm just amazing (too much?). The sun was setting, my hair was blowing in the wind, I was standing up with one hand on the wheel, going WAY too fast, testing the limits, feeling like the BUSINESS and then BAM, CRACK... I hit an almighty wave, the boat went up, SMACKED right down again, I fell backwards, almost out the boat, ripped the key out the ignition, engine cut, ALL very dramatic... I'm smooth like that, SO smooth. Nobody saw. It was okay. Time for old James Bond over here to go to bed, bonne nuit.

Emerald Coast Lovin'
My day's been filled with turquoise water, sun, sand, speed boats, pistachio ice cream, shopping, swimming and sunsets. Annoying right? I know, I'm sorry, it's really not ALWAYS like this, give it a week and I'll be back in my box, swwweating away in the galley. I'm making the most of my time off. Both the captain and deckhand were gone for the day, so... like the pirate (hooker) that I am (did someone say HOOKER?!), I stole the speed boat and went exploring the coastline for the day, I dropped the anchor in a pretty little spot and spent the day jumping in and out the boat. I've put some pictures up on the right, there's a video there too (with the white arrow thingy on it). The water was the most beautiful colour and it was so hot, okay I'll stop there. I stopped off in the famous Porto Cervo, playground to the rich and the famous. I can't be 100% certain, but I'm PRETTY sure I saw at least TWENTY FIVE celebrities (give or take), they were wearing massive sunglasses and lots of jewellery and they just had that LOOK about them, so I took some pictures, just in case. I only spent about 15 minutes there though, I was in no state to be draggin' mah salty sea dog self into the pristine Louis Vuitton and Prada shops (not that I would anyway, sans saltiness), I should have though, just to see what they would do. I settled for buying a post card and I was OUT of there.
